Initiative objective
This has been incorporated in the afforestation programme and is seen to supplement food security in the region while motivating project participants to conserve the forage necessary for the retention of the bees. So far the organization has put up a 100-hive apiary and looks forward to up-scale the facility to 2, 000 hives/units in the next phase. The existing apiary also serves as a demo site. GHI is working with Honey Care Africa (HCA) for technical support before up-scaling the project to the community.
